Welcome to North Wash Outfitters

Wow, Summer 2008 is here, the Monsoons have started and I have been so busy this year it has been hard to get out and enjoy any personal days of canyon exploration.  I now have a great excuse to get out and do so.  Michael Kelsey has finally released his 2nd edition of his popular "Technical Slot Canyon Guide to the Colorado Plateau."  This book is great.  It has been expanded to include 75 different canyons in 9 different geographical locations on the Colorado Plateau.  Ths book has and added bonus now, it is in full color.  All pictures are stunning and georgous.  Jump over to our books and check it out.

The weather has warmed up and getting into those dark, narrow chambers away from the sun is a refreshing feeling during this time of year.  Be ever mindful that along the Colorado Plateau it is Monsoon Season.  Watch those clouds, review those weather reports, get an early start and have a safe and enjoyable time out there.

For those Weekend Warrior Canyoneers who don't quite get the chance to get out as often as we like there is a great way to keep reviewing those skills during the week so that you are prepared.  Pick up a copy of Dave Black's Book "Canyoneering" which is Now in Stock.  This is a great read with lots of technical tips and how to's.

We are going to forever encourage you to look at the new SPOT PLB. My wife and I have already enjoyed using ours to keep track of me when I am in the outdoors.  I have sent it with my wife when she leaves out of town, and have taken mine on road trips to the city.  It offers peace of mind by allowing you to check in periodically during canyoneering trips, and allowing others to know when you are safely out of the canyon(s).  Wives can track their husbands, moms can check on kids, or friends can keep up with friends to ensure everyone is safe and located.

With as much water as there is potential to be in the canyons this time of year, another great item to look into is the HyperFlex Wet Suits.  Canyoneering can be cold at times and cause hypothermia if not properly protected.  HyperFlex wet suits are constructed with a looser fit than dive suits to allow the canyoneer to move more freely. It has sealed seams to keep the warm water in and the colder water out.

Don't forget to take advantage of those Frequent Shopper Rewards earned during the season.  If you would like to know more about this program, click the link or check the link at the bottom of the page for more information.

7-29-08 Shipping has changed slightly.  For the shipping of  Michael Kelsey's new 2nd edition of  his Technical Slot Canyon Guide to the Colorado Plateau, I have reduced our standard shipping to only $5.00 for this week only.  Of course any order over $100.00 is still Free Shipping via UPS Ground.

As always, we love to hear from you.  We want your canyoneering adventures to be spectacular.  Tell us how we can serve you.  Stop by our Blog to leave us some feedback, read product reviews or news updates or shoot us an e-mail to say HI.
