Even with canyoneering becoming more mainstream in the outdoor adventure scene, some women are still finding it hard to participate in this activity without feeling intimidated about taking classes around the opposite sex. This course is an opportunity to get some training with no prior experience and do it in an atmosphere where there is no need to feel intimidated.
The Technical Canyoneering course is designed to give beginners and novices alike the confidence they need to pursue their canyoneering explorations further and maybe even take it to that next level. The course discusses beginning and intermediate techniques as well as helping everyone to feel more comfortable in a canyon setting. The class prepares participants to travel through canyons rated up to 3B in the canyon rating system. The course meets in the mornings with in-class, hands-on technique discussions and practical's. In the afternoons, we hike into the canyons up the street for practice in a canyon environment. The course
still includes the techniques and skills taught in the American Canyoneering Association's (ACA) Technical course
and will satisfy prerequisites for other ACA courses. Ladies will have the enjoyment of getting into some canyons and practicing the techniques learned while with an instructor.
The course will be focusing on beginning canyoneering techniques:
