Public Land
There is public land all around used for camping.

Recapture Resevoir is approx. 2 miles from the Visitors Center north/east of town on Highway 191 and has open camping, drop toilets in some spots and good fishing and boating.

Devils Canyon Campground is approx. 8 miles from the Visitors Center north/east of town on Highway 191. It is a BLM cared for campground and has organised tent sites and drop toilets.

Nizhoni Campground is approx. 13 miles from the Visitors Center north of town on the Blue Mountains. It is a Forest Service organised campground and has tent sites and drop toilets.

South of Blanding is Highway 95 heading towards Lake Powell and Hanksville Utah. Along this road there is public land available for open camping.
